thoughts for thursday

Dear spring weather, You have been absolutely ideal. I'm in love with the warmth and sunshine.

I bought 2 rain barrels today. I'm really excited for them. Remember last year when my front facet would rain and Mitch stopped me from using it.... Problem fixed :) My flower pots will look beautiful this year. Plus they double as water storage too.

My helleborus finally bloomed today. It's gorgeous. I can't wait to add 3 new colors to my garden this year.

We got our first berries at work today.

I've been braving the greenhouse and trying to get all my plugs planted. I have had the corner checked multiple times for any other snakes. So far no surprises. luckily 


The boys are in love with the weather and all the time they get to spend outside. I hope the weather stays lovely, the weatherman predicts rain and snow.

Mitch and I are going to finally paint our main wall this weekend. Wish us luck since it's a 2 story wall.... it's so tall!! It will look amazing once finished. {Pictures to come for sure}

For Reals!?!!!!

Today was one of those days...

It was supposed to be a day off.

I spent my time waking up.

I finally made my way down stairs around 8:30...

On the fridge was the sweetest note!

A simple reminder that my hubby is the most fabulous hubby of all! {love}

Posting about my challenges this year.

We were supposed to have a meeting at work

reviewing the past year....

I made sure to arrive around 10:30

We had anticipated booking our Monrovia order wouldn't take so long.

2 hours later I asked Grant if he still wanted to hold our meeting.

Still working on our order with Monrovia...

Grant wanted to put it off for another day or two.

Unfortunately it was 2 hours at work when I wasn't absolutely needed.

Borrowed the truck and hurried home to finish the yard work for the year.

{I love having access to the dumpster at work}

Picking up the boys messes, raking leaves, cleaning out the garden, loading all the trimmings from the front yard and mowing the back yard.

Around 2:30 I was in the back yard working and heard a garbage can being rolled.

I figured it was one of the neighbors bringing their trash can back to their house.

Our trash can was still out on the road

I figured I'd bring it back to the house once I was done in the back yard.

3:00 I finally finished with all the yard work.

Grab my purse and keys 

Ready to head back to the store and dump everything.

Trash can ..... NOWHERE to be found!!! 

Seriously?!

My text to Mitch read - um our trash can disappeared!

Mitch called and told me he'd call the city and see if they had anything to say.

Did you know a new trash is going to cost us $225!!!!

I don't know about you... But that is outrageous!! 

How can you not be angry about that?! 

Stolen trash can and raped for a new one!?!

Another call to waste management...

turns out if there is a police report filed it will only cost us $53 something.

A call to the police for a report.

The kind officer took my report... 

and informed me, it'll take a FEW days to get it filed.

{.... excuse me officer but it only takes a few minutes to file a ticket... We would like a new trash can}

Needless to say it was the cherry on top of my not ideal day off.

Yes I accomplished a lot in the yard.

HOWEVER who steals a trash can!??!!!

Do you realize how much you need a trash can?! 

We realized very quickly how often you use it... need it.

PLUS the ATM denied my withdrawal for our car payments. 

which mean I had to go into the branch....

Apparently our withdrawal amount dropped on the ATM for no reason.

I was ready to freak out and cry talking with the guy at the bank...

Waiting in traffic and finally making to pay our car payments.

It was a rough day.

At least I had the sweetest note from my hubby this morning 

and a super yummy chai this afternoon.

PS. My crock pot is my best friend on days like today.

Wish us luck with our trash can.

We are in desperate need of one right now.

Who in their right mind STEALS a trash can?!!! Really!!!

How was your day?!

Mine was ...

7 am wake up. Laundry. Dilly beans. 7 pints. Cleanup back yard. Weeding and dead heading. Mitch comes home for lunch. Abby comes out to visit. Mowing the backyard. Leashing the boys. Going to the lake with Abby for a walk with the boys. Lots of sunshine. Lots of panting. Dropping the boys off at home. Grabbing happy hour. I love me a coke and lime. Sharing abby's kneaders sandwich. Yummy. Vacuuming. Putting away laundry. Showering and calling it a day. Relaxed. Quick trip to the grocery store with mitch. Double rainbow. Hobo dinners {mitch calls them tin foil dinners}. Goodness. Lots of puppy snuggles. Shark week. Thinking of an early bedtime.

Thursday tidbits

I can't believe it's thursday already. The past two days have been jammed full of work and other things.

Tuesday I had a part day off. Helped open the store, helped customers and watered. I also finished giving the bid for the garden job.... I got it :) it'll be a lot of work but I think it'll be worth it. I plan on going over on Saturday to start putting in perennials. :) Mitch and I also went grocery shopping :) hooray. We hit up smiths, maceys and Costco. I love having yummy food in the house. It's a bummer how much produce prices have gone up. I'm THAT much more excited for my own garden this year :) yummy fresh food for the fraction of the price!! You should try a garden your self this year!!
Jaclyn my visiting teacher came over. She's such a darling lady!! We get so distracted by talking ;) she came at 7 .... Next thing we knew it was 10!!! Holy cow time flys :) I love having a good friend in the ward and neighborhood!! Thanks fir the visit lady!!

Wednesday. Talk about no disire to get up and outta bed. Some days I wish I could sleep in. Those days usually being the ones I HAVE to get up. Lame. Work was quiet in the morning. Grant fixed one of the fans/furnaces - a belt broke. He is such an amazing man!!! I'm lucky he's my grandpa. Watering, planting, moving and trimming plants. It was a full day. 4- 4:30 rolls around and Nanna spys ANOTHER snake. This time it was on the floor in-between benches. She pushed me out of the way and I went to get chase to play fetch. We have NEVER had SO many snakes in that greenhouse let alone in 3 weeks!! Gross!! Chase got it and took it out. A few minutes later nanna had a full on panic attack. I feel bad for her!! I know exactly how she feels. Luckily I didn't see it this time .... But I know it was there. Chase was sweet and cleared the floor for her {and me} but nanna decided she was done for the day. After work she came with me to help put furniture together for my grandparents. 2 chairs and a desk. THREE hours later!! I like Ikea... I don't like how you have to assemble everything. The desk was a beast!! I made it home by 9. {I'll hang pictures another day for them}. What a long day!! Showered and hung out with the boys for a bit.

Thursday. Probably should crawl outta bed and get my butt movin. Lots to do at work. More baskets and containers to plant :)

Here's to hoping NO snake sightings today!! {pray for me :) please} lol

Party like a rockstar...

I SO did not want to get out of bed this morning!! Mitch and I even went to bed early. We are both dragging our feet...

Can you believe it's ONLY Thursday?? It feels like it should be Saturday!!

Another crazy day.

I'm glad I spent last night at my house with my men :) it was much needed. Mitch took me to Zupas {I've been dying to go for e-v-e-r} thanks love. I got to work in my yard and I even scrubbed my kitchen down. {you would too if you saw some of the things in my grandma's old kitchen. GROSS!!}

I hope today is a better day than yesterday! I showered this morning and I feel like it's a start in the right direction.

{HE DID IT}

Today was the BIG day....

Mitch and I tossed and turned all night. {mitch was more nervous for this test than on our wedding day. Lol}
Early morning to say the least.
His test was in 2 segments.
He told me he'd be done between 12 & 1. As 12 came and the minutes ticked by .... I was getting increasingly nervous. {I'm glad I wasn't the one taking the test!} FINALLY he called.... He passed!!!!! Hooray!!!! Plus he got a great score too!!

BIG SiGH of RELIEF!

In celebration we traded our jeep in {it needed quite a bit of work put into it} we brought home a beautiful Jeep Commander. {which will be my car in a year or so :) yea!!}

We are pretty excited! Plus we grabbed dinner at the Cheesecake Factory. It was absolutely delicious!

Life is on an upward swing :) happy day!! Happy dance!!

A cold morning + some thoughts

Yesterday morning was unbelievable!! It went a little like this:

6:30 - coughing and trying to breath

being sick is never fun

trying to get comfy....

I get up to go to the bathroom in hopes of finding some relief in my nose

Go grab some asprin, hoping that it will help relieve the aches in my body

6:40 - I crawl back into bed, still trying to get comfy

mitch finally asks what time it is.... then ask me to get out of bed

apparently I was waking him

I didn't.

I needed a little more sleep before I started my day.

I dosed off and was happy that I woke to my alarm.

7:40 - got up and dressed for my day

let the boys outside

fed them

sat down at the computer

8:25 - kissed Mitch goodbye

{We have different schedules now}

put the boys back in their beds

grabbed breakfast and lunch

8:35 - pulled out of my driveway

HOLY MOLY

it was 55 degrees outside!!!

It was as though spring had arrived during the night!

The sun was shinning, the sun was warm

Boy did it make my heart sing :)

8:50 - get to work, open up

Sanna gets there and gets me up to speed with everything

I worked in the greenhouse.... in the dirt... I loved the warmth in there!!

There is something special about spring....

I wish the beautiful weather stayed

the afternoon got cloudy and windy and chilly.

After work I came home and enjoyed 'me' time

fed the boys and hung out with them.

7 pm - I went visiting teaching.

Its been years since I've visit taught. I was nervous, plus I still don't know many in my ward.

It was good though.

The lord really knows what we all need

and I needed a lesson in sisterhood and service.

I left humbled.

8 - Mitch came home for dinner before he finished out his shift.

I enjoyed seeing him :) It made me happy.

The weather was really yucky by then!

snow, wind, ice, freezing

- This morning-

6:40 - woke up having troubles breathing and getting comfy again.

Golly its worse than an alarm clock.

Jake was sleeping with us

{He's my new buddy}

I'm grateful he was quiet and settled back down

Bathroom, lots of nose blowing, nothing...

Tried falling back asleep

7 - finally got up, hoping Mitch would be able to get more rest

Its not nearly as nice out side this morning

Its cold and there is WHITE stuff on the ground again.

But today is Thursday!!

Do you know what that means?!!

ALL of my favorite shows are on tonight!!

HOORAY

CSI Vegas, Bones, Grey's Anatomy and Private Practice!!

Jake and Cezar have no complaints about them either ;)
