a few tidbits to wrap up my tuesday

i may or may not have just leaked water all over myself... darn hole in my mouth

i just have to say how grateful i am for a working heater and hot showers. with the miserable single digits we've been enduring these last two weeks.... there is nothing better than coming home from work to enjoy a hot shower and curl up in a warm home. we are truly blessed. today i was grateful when the temperature hit 27 degrees. {who would've thought it would be considered warm...}

we have some big news on the job front for mitchel. i may be able to indulge this weekend ;)

along with being incredibly grateful for hot showers and a good heater.... i have to tell you that mitch has gone above and beyond to help our family members this week. there is nothing more attractive than a husband who is always available to help his family and even my nanna with her car and willing to help her with her figuring out her new phone. i'm such a lucky lady.

today marks our 3 years of marriage.
we started the day off with a kiss and a happy anniversary before mitch made his way up to slc for training
i spent my morning at work enjoying the second to last day of pumpkinland {goodbye crazy}
this afternoon i hurried up to taylorsville to pick up mitch's rifles from the gunsmith
then i stopped in at a garden center in sandy to grab some plants that missed my delivery yesterday.
once mitch made it home we celebrated with a tasty dinner of our favorite ~ cafe rio.
we'll polish our evening off with some snuggling.

i finally got an orchid.
it's my anniversary bouquet plus a fancy new teal pot :)

how i know

I can be very particular about certain things
one of them being - I'm anal about making the bed after we have washed the sheets.

Mitch is a wonderful help around the house.
I'm grateful for everything he does to help
sometimes he does a better job as a house keeper
{okay maybe a lot of the time}

A few months ago the sheets were ready to be pulled out of the dryer and the bed made.
it was late at night
I was exhausted and my body was beyond run down.
the thought of putting the bed back together was daunting.
i quickly began to get irritated that Mitch hadn't offered to help me.
but then I stopped and realized that he was doing me a favor.
Mitch knew that I had a certain way I made the bed and him helping out just frustrated me
and a argument always seemed to ensue.

that's another reason why I know he really loves me.
it's odd how moments like those sneak up on you

Saturday Mitch spent the day cleaning the house {such a sweetheart}
and he even washed the bedding.
coming home and trying to get ready for our night out
the clean sheets waited for us on the bed til late the night.
On the way home he reminded me the bed was still unmade.
He knew it's my thing

a couple of reasons I'm the luckiest girl in the world

This past week my hubby went above and beyond to make sure I was taken care of during my crazy work week/days. I'm beyond words grateful for everything thing he did. Watering my plants for me, taking care of the boys, making sure laundry was done so I had clean clothes to wear, bringing me lunch on Saturday, getting me a beautiful bouquet of roses for Mother's day {I'm a fur momma}, making sure I was able to relax and rest on Sunday, letting me sleep extra, helping me in the yard..... I feel like I'm the luckiest girl in the world. Mitch has really out done himself lately. I'm feeling incredibly loved. Thanks for everything you have done for me sweetheart! I appreciate you and everything you do for me and our little family.

{Will you be mine}

This year I began thinking about Valentine's day about a month in advance.
It's the only way I am able to gear up for anything lately.
So in hopes of pulling off a fabulous Valentines....
I planned in advance.

I spent quite a bit of time cutting out darling hearts to decorate with

I even made a double batch of sugar cookies to share with friends and family

To start my valentines.... I asked my poppy's help in heart attacking Mitch's desk at work. Since he works at an investment firm, only employees are allowed. I even had help from a friend in coming up with a darling phrase, since poppy heart attacked it a day early....

"someone as special as you.... shouldn't have to wait another day... Happy Valentine's Day love!"

It was perfect!! We definitely surprised him. {sadly no pictures are allowed}. 

Monday night while he was at work I finished blowing up all the balloons. The boys didn't like them. They wouldn't stop barking at them. Once I was done though and had closed the door on my office, Jake kept going over to the door wanting in. I was afraid he'd give away the balloons. Luckily Mitch didn't notice when he was home.

On Tuesday, actual Valentines day, I worked 8-2. Then had plans to hurry home and gather all the balloons I had blown up and fill his car full. 45 red, pink and white balloons. I was nervous someone would catch me and alert Mitch prior to his lunch break. My luck held though. I had a cute note "will you be mine?" and then a booklet of car washes and a gift card to his favorite smoothie shop. 4:30 came and I got my usual call from him. He was completely shocked and curious how I managed to get the balloons to stay in the car while filling it up. My surprise was that he managed to get out of his overtime shift that night. So we grabbed some burgers to go and curled up in bed for the evening.

My day turned out perfect. Mitch had listened to my request for a simple heart shaped ring for my right hand. I found it on our bed Monday night before I headed to Pilates. I was thrilled!! It was the perfect gift!! :) At work I received my first box of plant plugs. I love getting my plant babies. A perfect delivery for Valentines at work. When I arrived home that afternoon, I found the most beautiful bouquet red tulips and blue Irises along with a book I had been wanting - Pukka. {The author wrote Merle's door which I love!!}. It was the sweetest Valentines! I'm so grateful for a thoughtful hubby who knows me and just what to get me ;)

4 Valentine Days later.... I love him just as much as our first. I'm grateful to have such a wonderful man as my husband and as my sweetheart!!

Anniversary

I've been married to the most amazing man for 2 wonderful years. Weekend away enjoying Las Vegas touring and shopping {thanks baby} and driving home today. Marriage is wonderful and challenging. It's totally worth it too. I married my best friend and I can't even imagine life without him!! I'm a very lucky lady and give thanks for him everyday. I love you Mitchel!!

Shout out to My Man

My Husband is a freaking rock star!!

He is the best thing in my life! We are like two peas in a pod. I love that he's my best friend. Coming home so late last night, I was surprised to see he had Jake upstairs sleeping with him... Such a sweet gesture. PLUS I'm incredibly proud of him!! He interview for a higher position/team at his work last week and he was offered the job yesterday!!! Hooray!!! He made it there in 4 1/2 months, where it takes some guys 10 years to make that team {ok perhaps he exaggerated a little -- more like 3 to 5 years. lol}. My husband is fabulous, and I love him with my everything.

Reason #943 why I love my hubby

He knows how to fix the kitchen plumbing {after he dumps a whole bunch of rice down the sink. lol} I'm super grateful that he's turned into a rock star of do-it-yourself-fixer-upper :) He pretty much rocks my socks off. Lets keep adding to that list of reasons why I love him.... Coming home and kissing me and saying thank you for cleaning the car {he has also named my jetta, the Judah.} and after going inside, comes back out and kisses and snugs me more and says thank you again for cleaning the house top to bottom. {totally makes up for our little tiff}. Yay for being appreciated. Then I told him I was in the mood for ice cream and my sweetie indulged me and took me to pick up some Ben & Jerry's. And to top it all off he helped in the kitchen with dinner and cleanup and he was just as excited as I was about eating my first artichoke outta the garden.

Kudos baby Kudos.

Sometimes I'm a party pooper...

I love my husband more than anything. I really, truly do! I love him with all of my heart. I'm happier in my marriage today then I was once we got home from our honeymoon. That's a good thing. That means it just keeps getting better and better.

Marriage is never easy. It takes work. Some days are easy. Some days are challenging. But it is always worth it.

Remember when dating your sweetheart how falling in love, giggling, playing, and constantly being playful was easy?? I do. Those were some of the absolutely best days. The butterflies were always near by. I miss those days.

Sunday afternoon we spent giggling over {awful} raman noodles {thanks love}, making cupcakes, playing on our super fabulous new air mattress, playing Yhatzee {I own}, snuggling and giggling some more. It was absolutely fanastic. Quality time is amazing.

.... then my sweet hubby turned his happy go lucky self up a few notches and I got annoyed a bit. It's like I can only handle his {4 year old} sense of humor for only so long. And now I think to myself how lame am I?

{Our Story}

Mitch and I met in September of 2006. {Wow thats a long time ago} I was dating his friend and we'd all hang out. I thought Mitch was super good looking but slightly cocky at the time. We got to know each other some and had fun chatting when we were all hanging out. Mitch started dating this girl and I have to say.... I didn't like her. Things in my relationship weren't going good {I knew it'd be a short thing} and I broke up with the guy. I didn't see Mitch any more.

I got busy at work and started training a new guy. We started hanging out and everything seemed to click. We met first of January and got engaged the end of February. But by the middle of March.... he called it off. It was hard. I left that job so I could work full time at the Garden Center.

One day I was at the mall shopping and I got a text from someone. It turned out to be Mitch. Somehow he had my phone number and saw me shopping and shot off a text. We bumped into each other and it was great to see him. {He didn't seem nearly as cocky anymore. lol}. I had a lot of fun that afternoon. We started texting each other regularly and hanging out now and then.

Come June {2007} I talked him into going to insitute with me. Half way through we decided to go get strawberry waffles at IHOP. It was a ball! I had such a great time hanging out with him!!! We did all sorts of things that summer. We went to the Manti pagent, we played at parks, he stopped by my work with drinks often, we went out to eat. A friendship was being built.

During the summer though I had started seeing someone again. It was a long distant thing - he lived in Cali. He was cool and we would take turns visiting each other. Mitch was dating a lot during that time as well. Mitch and I became really close friends. Later that fall I started nannying for the Harts in Saratoga Springs.



There were many days that I would text Mitch or call him to hang out and he would be on his way over. One of my favorite things we'd do is drive down to Mavrick and grab a drink {We were both Dr. Pepper fans at the time} and pick up some Nerd Ropes :) We always had a ball! I knew I could always count on him!

Things weren't working out with the guy in Cali like I had hope. My missionary came home from his mission. I toyed with the idea of how things would work out there. I spent time with him and tried to get to know him again. It wasn't meant to be.

January came and Mitch approached me. He told me that he couldn't just be my best friend anymore. He wanted to be more. I finally realized I'd rather lose Cali, then lose Mitch. I broke things off with Cali. Mitch had become my best friend and I knew he'd always be there for me with out fail.

Mitch talked me into going snowboarding for my first time that month. I was terrified once we got there and were making our way up the ski lift. He began to worry what he'd gotten us into. I ended up loving it!! I'm very pleased to say that I spent more time up, then on my butt. It was such a great day! However I was incredibly sore the following day! BUT I was addicted and I ran out a few days later to by my own gear. {I love clearance}



Valentines day came {2008} and Mitch spoiled me. He took me out to Goodwood {YUMMY} and afterwards took me to pick out bindings for my valentine gift. They are the best bindings too! Plus I got beautiful roses! We saw and a movie and when he dropped me back off in Saratoga, he kissed me and we decided that we'd be boyfriend and girlfriend. Best Valentines!

We went boarding quite a few times before Spring hit. We were both in school. We hung out as much as we could {we lived an hour away from each other} and had as much fun as we could pack in. Summer came. We went four wheeling, we went to Zions, we celebrated both our birthdays, we went wave running... the list goes on.

Marriage was brought up... mainly by me. It wasn't something that was in the near future. So we kept on dating happily. Summer turned into fall and school showed up again. Towards the end of the semester I started looking at classes for Spring. My school schedule wouldn't work with the Harts schedule anymore and I decided it was time to focus on my school. I found a place in Orem to rent that was close to school and 10x more closer to Mitch.



For Valentines {2009} and our 1 year dating anniversary Mitch suprised me with a puppy - Jake. Everyone poked fun that it was his way of keeping me with out proposing yet. It definitely took my mind of getting engaged for awhile. We were both going to school full time and working full time. Needless to say we enjoyed the time we had together. Mitch also ended up selling his four wheeler and such.... July 31st came and he finally proposed!! :) One of the best days ever! We had gone to the Oaker Temple open house :) It was lovely. After that we drove to see the Draper temple. We were talking about which temple we'd like to get married in. {We knew we were going to get married.... I was just waiting for him to propose} On the way home he asked me where the park was that we had played at before - the one with the fountains. He said his mom was asking about it. {yea... uh huh} So I gave him directions to the park {I believe it's Neilson grove, the one behind walmart in Orem}. Once we got there he asked if I'd like to go for a walk. As we started he realized he 'forgot' the keys or somethin' in the car. He quickly ran back and then we walked around the park. We finally made it over to the fountains... He asked me if I could have anything in the world what would I want.
Me: I want to go on a trip
Mitch: A trip? Why?
Me: Because I want to get engaged but that's not happening any time soon.
Mitch: Are you sure?
Me: Yes
Mitch: {as he pulls a box out of his pocket} Well.... will you marry me?!
Me: Are you serious??
Mitch: Yes, and its real
{I told him to just propose with a cracker box ring many times before lol}
Me: Really?!! {grinning ear to ear!}
Mitch: Is that a yes?
Me: YES!!
It was absolutely wonderful!! Its like 11pm and all I wanted to do was tell everyone!! His sister Ashley is the first one I told. I also told my whole family once I had gotten home {I was lucky they were up watching a movie}.

We set a date - October 30th, 2009. Those 3 months went by fast and incredibly slow at the same time!! Mitch was an absolute sweetheart while we were planning the wedding and towards the end he was a life saver keeping me calm! We were married in the Mt. Timpanogos Temple and it ended up snowing that day!! BUT it was perfect and I'm so grateful that I was able to marry my best friend for time and all eternity!!

Now we are busy living our happily ever after! Life is only getting better as each day passes!!

You know those weeks where your incredibly content and happy?

This week I've been wonderfully content, happy and madly in love with my honey!!

I'm tired, wishing for a vacation, hoping for a massage....

However I just have to tell you that I have the most wonderful husband in the world!

I'm truly grateful for him, incredibly happy with him

and....

Life keeps getting better with him!!

This week we have been in the process of getting answers....

Mitch has suffered from awful tummy pain for a few years

{Don't worry its not my fault ;) really though, its not}

We are very grateful for health insurance!

We were at our Dr. today and are really happy with him!

It felt like someone knew what they were talking about and

really trying to help us get answers.

YEA.

I don't know about you.... but

What happened to my warm sunshine and blue skies?!

I don't like the clouds that are rolling in with the

freezing temperatures!

Dear March, April and May...

Please hurry and start arriving.... bring me my spring!

I've got Visiting teaching again.

I have to say that I love being visit taught

and I absolutely adore my visiting teachers....

However I feel like its a chore...

Sigh.

I hope my heart changes....

I had the best valentine ever!!

Isn't he just soooo handsome?!!

I sure think he is!!

We had the most charming morning on Monday.

I LOVED brunch at Kneaders {I already want to go again}

Then we came home and tried to decided what to do

Mitch decided we should see Sanctum at the theater.

Last year I picked a girly movie, it was his turn this year.

Then we went our ways... him to work and me to the Harts

I spent the rest of my valentine's with the most darling boys.

I had 4 boyfriends!! :)

We had a wonderful time hanging out

We ate homemade tomato soup and homemade bread

{No I didn't make it but I want the recipes!!}

Then we packed up in the car so we could go feed and potty my 'children'

and make the bed for my sweet Mitchel.

Once we got back it was getting dressed for bed, brushing teeth, checking homework

and tucking them into bed with kisses goodnight.

Crew stayed up with me for awhile longer. He's such a darling baby!!

I woke early {couldn't sleep... I missed my bed and husband}

Enjoyed a beautiful sunrise

made sure the Kaden and Chaz made it to school

I loved getting kisses good bye from them

I enjoyed my morning with Kellen and Crew

{it reminded me of the good 'ol days when I was their full time nanny.}

Kellen was off to school around 9:15 ...

then it was just me and the babe.

I laid sweet crew down for his nap around 9:40

waited for the swap so I could go home and finished celebrating Valentines with my Mr.

When I got home I found the most beautiful black and gold box on our bed...

Here's the thing...

I love roses!

Red, pink, yellow, white, orange....

I love them all.

Red is beautiful but the most common color....

I have a special thing for any other rose color.....

this year I got WHITE roses!!

They were absolutely perfect!

Boy does my honey know me or what?!!

I needed to go into work at the garden center for a bit.

I was so tired!!

Sanna caught me up on everything

then I finally got to head home to spend some time with my lover!!!

It was the second time we'd gone and we not disappointed at all!!

We went early - 4 pm

They still had the Valentine special....

SO MUCH FOOD!!

We barely made a dent in it

Yea for left overs!

After dinner {4:45} we headed home to watch House {I heart DVR}

plus GLEE!!

Then Mitch had to do some studying.

We had such a wonderful valentines!

I have the BEST VALENTINE EVER!!

{Love month}

I can't believe January has passed and its already February!! I'm excited to focus on the 'Love' month. :) I've noticed that a lot of people are very fond of Valentines day, but I am. Growing up I didn't have much to say about it, but then I found my honey and Vday got dramatically better!! Naturally would should celebrate love everyday of the year... but its nice having one day to go BIG about your love lol.

Here's a few things I LOVE about my man!!

• Mitch is my best friend ever!!
• Mitch is always on my side {best part about having a husband!}
• He does the laundry
• He always leaves the toilet seat down :) {I never had to train him either ;) }
• He also cleans the toilet
• Mitch generally does all the dishes
• His hugs and kisses can turn any bad day into a good day!
• He works hard for a little family

Mitch is by far the best part of my days!!
