{Monsters and Nightmares}

Monster kind of morning
-----
I survived my long week. Golly I'm tired. This morning I struggled getting out of bed.... I SO wished I could've spent the morning there instead. But it's okay... I picked up a little friend on my way into work :) It was just me and our yard guy Chase today. I was grateful for a cold and overcast day. We were pretty steady all day, but I was able to get all my dahlias planted. phew. My colorful brother Peter stopped by the store on his way home from the color festival. It looks like he had fun :) I've never been. Don't know if I'm missing out. Maybe I'll give it a try one of these springs when I'm not working :) I love my brother! He's pretty awesome! Ladies... He's single ;)

So remember my phobia... My job is pretty awesome!! BUT the one down side of it is the possibility of snakes. Oh the countless times I've come across them!! It's pretty terrifying!
-----
So here's my story... Last year I was working with my back in the wall in the green house. Sanna comes in as she's finishing up with a customer on the phone... She's in front of me and GASPS!! I jump and quickly turn around to find a snake has made it way onto our mounted trellis on the wall {it was intertwined in a hat that was hanging there as well} FREAKED ME OUT!!! Naturally I get as far away, as fast as possible. Mitch was working there at the time, so I run out to the greenhouse he was in and made him come get it. He thought it'd be a great idea to get clippers and kill it on the wall. I refused {nasty idea!} and some how the snake made it back into the wall. YUCK! FREAKY! SCARY! I was scared of it so I ended up switching sides of the counter I was planting on so I could stare at the hole in the wall. We eventually got the snake out and I relaxed.

August. Sanna and I were in Las Vegas at the Excel Tradeshow and I got a call from Savannah telling me that a snake had fallen from the rafters in the greenhouse. OMG!! Snakes on the ground are one thing... At least I can jump up on something. If they are above my head.... and FALLING from a ceiling... thats a completely different story!! This spring I figured I was home safe. We got the snakes out from last year and I don't recall that problem from any other year.

WELL.... last week I was planting like usual {back to the wall} and I hear something behind me. {I've got super hearing} So I whip around and look at that hole AND I see at least 3 snakes intertwined among eachother making their way up. nasty nasty nasty!!! I immediately walk into the store and wait to get Sanna's attention. I finally get her to go take and look and get them out for me. Sanna is totally my hero!! She pulled our not just one snake, or two snake, or three snake BUT FOUR medium size snakes!!! OH MY GOODNESS!! I was seriously freaking out! One of the even tried getting away 3 times from her!! Thank heavns she made sure he left in the bucket!! Needless to say I'm back to planting as I stare that hole down. A week passed..... thursday another one decided to make an appearance. THAT'S FIVE SNAKES PEOPLE!! Coming up and OUT of my wall!! Gives me the freaking creeps!! Luckily one of our spanish guys saved me. So the past two days I've been even more cautious of the 'hole'. And last night I dreamed of snakes. It's horrible!! So today I had Chase take care of for me!! My nightmare... Like my solution??!! I hope it works!! I told Chase I hope they lick it and die. I laughed. But I'm serious though!!
What do your nightmares consist of??

I Have a dog that catches and kills snakes! You can borrow him if you want to :) We have so many snakes at our house its ridiculous! I totally have nightmares about them too! I wake up sometimes and make chris check the bed and floor to make sure there aren't any in our room lol! Two summers ago we had a snake get into the house! We live in a REALLY old house and in the process of redoing it we took the baseboards off. One of them was left off for a little while and there was a pretty good size hole between the wall and the floor and a snake came up through it from under the house. Hazzard was right on it if it weren't for him I wouldn't have known it was in the house. So Gross! Chris filled it in with that foam too and then put the baseboard back on. Oh I hate snakes to... they're right up there with nightmares of spiders. lol!
