Our yard was overdue for some tender loving care. Slipping my shoes back on and into the yard I went. Cleaning up the back yard, trimming the weeds and shrubs going coming through the fence from the neighbors. Mowed the entire yard. Watered some.
As I went to put the mower away I had to hold the gate open. Unfortunately my arms arent super long and stretchy to reach the handle of the lawn mower to push in through the gate. I crouched down and did the only logical thing in that moment... Grab the side of the mower to help guide it through. Holy fudge monkeys!!! The pain!! I seared the tips of my fingers on the unbelievably hot muffler. Ya know when you burn your hand sometimes you can pull it away quickly and other times no so fast... This was a not so fast time. I looked at my fingers and could tell I did a doozy on em, changed tactics on getting the lawn mower through the fence and then decided cold water would be a good idea.
Do you know what the worst part was? I was ALL alone {minus the boys of course}. Mitch was at work and there I was standing at the kitchen sink with my fingers in cold water. I managed to fill a bag of ice and give my girlfriend a call in search of lavender. It was the only thing I could think of. Thanks Jaclyn for being amazing and helping me out. Then I managed to finish putting the mower away, watering my thirsty plants and shower. It's a talent with a bag of ice. After all that I curled up in bed and held it together til Mitch came home to take care of me.
So lawn mowing 101: DON'T touch the muffler!! It's not worth it.
